2026 CHAPS Driving Clinic

CHAPS is sponsoring a horse driving clinic that will show both beginning and intermediate drivers the proper techniques for horse driving. We will focus on basic techniques such as single and teams with hands-on including proper harnessing, hitching and line handling.You will be allowed to use these skills with horses over the weekend. We will also explore some advanced techniques in demonstration form such as tandem and four-up. This clinic will give you the opportunity to gain knowledge about horse driving and find a solid place to begin or advance your skills.

Tracy Shaw will be our instructor for this clinic. Tracy has over 40 years of experience with many different hitches and horses. Tracy has driven with the Coors draft horse hitch and has put together all combinations of hitches, up to 8-up hitches with every breed. She is also a PATH International certified driving instructor.

Lunch will be provided on Saturday afternoon. Guests will be sent a questionnaire before the clinic for any Dietary Needs or Restrictions.
